We all know right? Then my grudge should be with James Amuta – he wrote one brilliant ‘crap’ I have not seen in a long time, crap in a good way now – If your publicist can’t write what I call crap, honestly fire him or her. I have been reading a lot of gossip these days. I can’t remember a lot of what he said but the mention of Naeto C’s lyrical scepter was one of the things that caught me but I thought: is it not Naeto on 'sitting on top', ‘You know my P’ and ‘Kini Big deal’? Here’s a confession before we move further and I know I am the only one in Lagos with out Naeto Chukwu’s debut album. I had my reasons plus I was not in Lagos when it was released and when I finally got here, it really didn’t pull me to buy it. ‘Kini big deal’ was bumping but I couldn’t get into any other of his track and let me just chip in that I have Ikechukwu’s ‘Life and Times of e kills’ album. My issues with Naeto’s music started with ‘sitting on top’, I still struggle to feel his delivery and hey! It is just me.Now why would I pick a pen to write what is probably obvious? After I read James’s note, I went up and down to get the new track ‘Ako mi ti poju’ and eventually I got it after 4.37 hours of search. I downloaded, listen and wallow! I am like ‘James writes crap!!’ Funny, honestly and almost immediately, my attention moved to James write up – he is a damn good publicist!. Bluntly,I am saying his write up was a lot brilliant than his client’s music and here’s my apology if that got on your nerves.
One thing then crossed my mind, it might just be like ‘You Know my P’ album. I thought he was not ready to rap when the ‘sitting on top’ track was all over the place then he dropped ‘Kini big deal’. I might not just be liking ‘ako mi tip o ju’ but I am still so looking forward to hear from Naeto C and hey James, Naeto C has not broken that sophomore jinx like you mentioned. Not just yet!
‘Ako mi ti poju’ is got a crunk feel. It is crunk to the hook with ‘Ako mi ti po ju’ getting repeated and another ‘I too (2) much men, I 3 much men, I 4 much men, I 5 much men’ running over it. Forget the hype – ‘ako mi tip o ju’ doesn’t do it and then James mention of Naeto’s lyricism on ‘Ako mi ti poju’ eventually wasn’t a bright move and his write up was just a publicist’s review of his client’s music and a Client’s music is never crap but then my review for ‘Ako mi ti po ju’ would be download free but don’t buy from Itunes or any where else.
Yes boss!
